Challenge:
This “Major Tire Retailer” wanted to obtain maximum results from their sales and marketing investments. Their goal was to provide the entire sales and marketing team with a complete, up-to-the-day picture of customer preferences, buying behavior, and profitability.

Solution:
Upgraded Essbase 6.5 to Essbase 11.1 and converted BSO Cubes from
Essbase 6.5 to ASO Cubes in Essbase 11.1.
Developed several canned reports in Financial Reporting Studio and Web Analyzer.
The system was installed in a 3 tier Windows environment using Oracle as RDBMS repository. Metadata was built using EPMA, while relational data was sourced directly from the source systems using ODBC.
A reporting solution was provided using Hyperion reports for most of the
end-users, while advanced users were granted access using Excel Smartview.

Value Analysis:
An Analysis Express consultant was chosen to provide the support to the existing Essbase 6.5 applications and to provide a roadmap to upgrade to Essbase 11.1. The consultant fine tuned the legacy Essbase applications and add new features in Essbase 11.1 . The consultant also created Data Marts.

Update
Analysis Express has been working with this “Major Tire Retailer” since Oct 2008. In 2011, they have extended their 3 year contract with Analysis Express for an additional two years.
